ip address
Description
With this command, you assign an IP address.
Requirement
You are in the Interface Configuration mode of VLAN.
The command prompt is as follows:
cli(config-if-vlan-$$$)#
Syntax
Call up the command with the following parameters:
ip address <ip-address> {<subnet-mask>| / <prefix-length(0-32)>}
The parameter has the following meaning:

IP address
Specify a valid IP address.
subnet-mask
Subnet mask
Enter a valid subnet mask.
prefix-length
Decimal representation of the mask as
a number of "1" bits
0 ... 32

The IP address is assigned.
Note
Effectiveness of the command
The command is effective immediately. If you configure the interface via which you access the
device, the connection will be lost!
Further notes
You delete the setting with the
no ip address
command.
