Inputs are controlled by RUGGEDCOM RSG2288 and only one can be active at any
time. For information about activating an input, refer to the
RUGGEDCOM ROS
Configuration Manual
for the RUGGEDCOM RSG2288.
The color of the
Sync
LED on the front panel of the PTP module indicates the status
of the incoming timing signal:
•
Green
– Signal locked
•
Amber/Yellow
– Holdover (GPS lock has been achieved, but the receiver no
longer sees the minimum number of required satellites)
•
Red
– Error
•
Off
– No signal detected

GBIC Optic Ethernet Ports
GBIC (Gigabit Interface Converter) optic Ethernet ports are available with SC
(Standard or Subscriber Connector) connectors.

Installing a GBIC Optical Port
To install a GBIC optical port, do the following:

Use only components certified by Siemens with RUGGEDCOM products. Damage
to the module and device may occur if compatibility and reliability have not been
properly assessed.

Make sure all electrostatic energy is dissipated before installing or removing
components from the device. An electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious
damage to the component once it is outside the chassis.
