Defining users
The MT8001 refers to user groups by numbers, starting with zero (0). There are
two predefined groups. The rest you define according to your client’s needs.
The first predefined user group is called
Default User
(group 0), and the second is
Technical User
(group 1).
The default user doesn’t have to login
The Default user permissions define what can be done without logging in. These
permissions will be available to anyone who comes into contact with the MT8001.
For example, default settings for the Default User can permit anyone to:
−
Access the Event browser;
−
Mute the event horn;
−
Acknowledge
events;
−
Suspend
events;
−
Close
events.
The customer should tell you which actions can be performed without logging in,
and you can set the permissions as necessary in the function/state table. (MT8001

The technical user is you
The Technical User permissions are set for those responsible for setting up and
maintaining the MT8001. The only setting that you should change for this user type
is the PIN-code.
Always change the technical user PIN
For security reasons, you should always change the PIN from the default.
(Default for new systems ID=1 / PIN=1111.)
Note:
Always change the technical user PIN from the default that comes with a
new MT8001, but do not modify any of the technical user permissions. If you
modify the technical user, you may not be able to open ActiveSync on the
MT8001 for configuration file transfer.
All other users and user groups need to be defined
