General notes about maintenance 

 

 

WARNING 

Danger of severe injuries caused by the unintentional starting of the drive unit 
Secure the drive unit to prevent it from being started up unintentionally. 
Attach a warning notice to the start switch. 

 

 

NOTICE 
Material damage caused by improper maintenance 
Service and maintenance must only be carried out by properly trained and authorized 

personnel. Only original parts supplied by Siemens AG can be used for servicing and 

maintenance. 

 

All inspection, maintenance, and repair work must be carried out with care by trained 

personnel only. Observe the information in Section General information and safety notes 

(Page 7).

Locking the manual release of the brake (optional) 

 

 

CAUTION 

No braking effect for lockable manual brake release lever 
The brake is then permanently released. 
Before commissioning the geared motor, ensure that the brake can be applied. 
We recommend you unscrew and remove the manual brake release lever during operation.
