2 - 2 Hardware maintenance
PM Fans - cleaning
•
Clean dust from all fans.
PM Check internal cables and plugs
•
Check that all internal cables are properly connected to the devices.
PM Cleaning
•
If necessary, clean dust from the computer cabinet.
•
Reinstall the computer access panel and connect the power supply cable.
2.2 Cables
PM Check that cables are not squeezed or broken
•
Check that the cables are neither squeezed nor broken; if they are, they must be
replaced.
PM Check all external cable connections
•
Check that all external cables are properly connected.
PM Safe cable run
•
Check that all cables are placed in such a way that no one will trip over them.
2.3 Keyboard and mouse
PM Keyboard - cleaning
•
Use a damp cloth to clean dust from the keyboard.
PM Mouse - operational check
•
Check that the mouse is operational.
PM Mouse - cleaning
•
Open the mouse and clean the rolls inside the housing.
•
Clean the external surface of the mouse.
2.4 Monitors
PM Desktop placement
•
Ensure that the two high resolution monitors are safely placed on the workstation table.
•
Ensure that the service monitor is safely placed on a side table.
PM Cleaning
•
Clean the housing of the two high resolution monitors and the service monitor with a
damp cloth.
•
Wipe the glass with a cloth moistened with a lukewarm aqueous solution of mild
detergent.
