3.3. Electrical Connections
Electrical Connections
•
VNX modules have on-board electrical
junction boxes and follow common DC
voltage color conventions. Only one
electrical connection is required per
module. Power connections to the module
junction box should be made with 12AWG
(3.31mm
2
) wire and conduit connections
should be supplied through the 7/8”
junction box thru hole.

Electrical Precautions
•
Ensure that polarity of DC connections is
correct before applying DC power.
Operation with polarity reversed will permanently damage the cathode. It is critical that the
red and black wires are correctly oriented on the positive (+) and negative (-) terminal blocks.
•
Do not run AC and DC wiring within the same conduit. This may cause interference
and lead to malfunctions.
•
Disconnect power before opening any enclosure and follow
accepted Lockout/Tag out procedures when working on the
system.
•
All wiring done in the field must conform to local electrical codes. Consult your Local service
Provider if there is a conflict between the instructions in this manual and the local codes.
•
Power connections from the modules should be connected to a suitable power supply
capable of meeting the DC power requirements of the module.
