Settings for wireless connection for games consoles
and set-top boxes
The following example describes which settings you need to make if you want to wire-
lessly connect two games consoles using two Gigaset SE365 WLAN devices.
The configuration description always refers to the factory settings of the
Gigaset SE365 WLAN.
Configuring the first Gigaset SE365 WLAN (as an access point)
ì
Set the operating mode to
Access point
by means of the
Mode
button on the
device’s back panel.
Configuring the second (and further) Gigaset SE365 WLAN
(as an Ethernet adapter)
ì
Set the operating mode to
Ethernet adapter
by means of the
Mode
button on the
device’s back panel.
Synchronising the security settings
ì
At the access point: Press the registration button on the device’s back panel.
ì
At the Ethernet adapter: Press the registration button on the device’s back panel
within two minutes.
Connecting and getting started
ì
Connect the first device (access point) to games console 1. To do this, connect
the LAN ports of the Gigaset SE365 WLAN and the games consoles with an Ethernet
cable.
ì
Switch on the Gigaset SE365 WLAN and wait until it is ready for use (WLAN LED
lights up).
ì
Switch on games console 1 and configure the console's network settings as directed
in its user guide.
ì
Connect the second device (Ethernet adapter) to games console 2. To do this,
connect the LAN ports of the Gigaset SE365 WLAN and the games consoles with an
Ethernet cable.
