Text message sending and the draft message list
If a call arrives while you are writing a message, then the message is automatically saved
to the
draft message list
. You can take the call and finish writing or send the message
later (page 33).
Text messages that cannot be sent are assigned an error status (page 38) and are put in
the
incoming message list
.
Text messages are only stored automatically if sending is interrupted. If you wish to
store a message then you must do so
before it is sent
.
Your phone line is busy while your text message is being transmitted to the SMS send
centre. The message
Transferring SMS!
is displayed on all handsets.
Writing text messages
A
single
text message can be up to 160 characters long.
If Russian or Greek is set as the display language on your handset, then you must change
this setting
before you write
a text message (page 58). Select a display language that
uses the Roman character set (e.g.
Deutsch
or
English
). The service provider cannot
deliver text messages with Greek or Cyrillic characters. You write a text message like
this:
i
Remember that some
service providers
will bill you for a cancelled call
to the SMS centre. Deutsche Telekom's SMS Service will not charge for an
interrupted call.
