The newly inserted memory card is automatically recognised after switching on the
controller and if necessary automatically be initialised.
Only high-quality CF memory cards, which meet the specifications indicated
above (recommendation: industry standard), should be installed.
5.3
Repairs on the open controller
5.3.1 General
The following describes maintenance and repair work with the opened controller
housing.
Before beginning work on the opened controller, the hardware must be checked
using the fault diagnostics to see whether this work is required.
Work on the opened controller is only permitted outside the warranty and to the
extent described in this manual.
Opening the controller housing and the breaking of an adhesive seal on the
housing screws voids any warranty and liability claims.
Documenting of the work
All maintenance and repair work on the open controller as well as the expansion of
modules in the controller must be documented by use of the form “Repair Report”.
The documentation must be stored for at least 10 years under observation of the
regulations as specified in the ISO 9001 standard. The repair report must be sent
to the manufacturer.
ESD protective measures
Suitable protective measures must be taken for the dissipation of static electricity
before beginning the maintenance and repair work. For example use commercial
anti-static mats with discharge cables.
One of the two mounting brackets on the front side of the controller should be used
as a clamping point on the device.
