Configuration limits
When using the CM type described here, the following limits apply:

The number of CMs that can be operated in a rack depends on the CPU type being used.

Project engineering
Configuration and downloading the configuration data
When the configuration data is downloaded to the CPU, the CM 1542-5 is supplied with the
relevant information. The configuration data can be downloaded to the CPU via PROFIBUS
or any PROFINET interface of the S7-1500 station.

Programming
Program blocks
For communications services, there are preprogrammed program blocks (instructions)
available as the interface in your STEP 7 user program.
