Detector parameter sets
What can these
be used for?
Interactive detectors can be temporarily set to a less sensitive parameter setting, e.g. when
work is being carried out (as alternative to the 'Renovation' operating mode).
What is the
'Smoke sensitiv-
ity index'?

In order to simplify the process of comparing smoke sensitivity values between the various
parameter sets, an AlgoRex smoke sensitivity index has been specified.

It should be noted that this index is a relative value where '2' means sensitivity higher by a
factor of 2 (compared with a parameter set with index '1').

This means that the during measurements in the CEN smoke tunnel according to EN54, the
detector will be activated at half the smoke density.
·
An AlgoRex smoke sensitivity index of '0' means 'No alarm, if just smoke is present'.
What does
'Response time'
mean?
This is the approximate response time when the detector is activated with Siemens test gas in
normal operation (the values stated above in seconds cannot be compared with a real fire situa-
tion).
