Settings in the protection device
In protection devices 7SD52, 7SD610, 7SA52 or 7SA6, the active interface enables the
communication with the opposite protection device must be configured to “enabled”.
The transmission rate must be set in both devices with the same value (64, 128, 256 or
512 kBit/s).
Closing the cover of the communication converter
After changing the jumper setting, perform the above steps in reverse order to re-assemble
the device. Secure the cover of the converter with 6 screws and apply the auxiliary voltage
again.
Display and operation
There are four display and control elements on the KU–XG. These are one red, two yellow
and one green LED and one push button located on the top side of the housing.
LED1, Error
The red LED “Error” directly signals the way in which the DR relay functions. For the LED
goes out, certain conditions must be fulfilled for X.21 and G.703.1 (see Page 11).
LED2, TxD
The yellow LED “TxD” signals the transmission data that comes from the mains interfaces
and are transmitted to the protection device as an optical fibre –T.
