7.
Power Management
The remote control has been carried out to fulfill the requirement of power management.
External device can communicate with inverter via a standard protocol, “MODBUS RTU (See
SP104 Siel”. The network operator is entitled to manage the power distribution in the
following limited way.
7.1. Active power
In order to secure the network system stability or handle the excessive energy supply, the
network operator has the right to require a temporary limitation of the active power feed-in.
7.1.1. Active power reduction
Inverter has the capability of reducing active power with the minimum step of 1%P

adjustable range is defined as 0% ~ 100%P

. In general, the settings of 100% / 60% / 30% /
0% are commonly used in several power management provisions.
7.1.2. Frequency-dependent active power reduction
The principle for this requirement is that the energy oversupply can be recognized as gird
frequency rise. The frequency-dependent active power limitation will get a quick reaction
while suddenly frequency changes in the grid. If the frequency increases over a specific
threshold, the active power has to be reduced as a function of the grid frequency. Regarding
the frequency set-point and the gradient of power reducing, several implementations are
carried out due to different safety regulations. The following graph only describes the concept
of frequency-dependent active power limitation.
