Product description

3.1

Product characteristics

The device is an IO-Link sensor hub. It can be used as a stand-alone device or as an IO-
Link device to efficiently transmit the data from all connected devices. When the
WI180C-IOA00 is used as an IO-Link device, an IO-Link master is also required. The rel‐
evant devices are connected via a simple plug system on the side of the coupler.

The entire configuration of the WI180C-IOA00 and of the connected devices can be
accessed via the SOPAS ET user interface. The required SOPAS ET software can be
downloaded at www.sick.com.

Normally the entire system is installed on a mounting rail near the application.

The sensor hub supports up to 16 connected devices, which are likewise connected to
one another via the plug system.

NOTE

It is NOT a mandatory requirement to use an IO-Link master. The WI180C-IOA00 can be
used in SIO mode. An IO-Link master is only required if the WI180C-IOA00 is intended
to be used as an IO-Link device.
