Commissioning
7.1
Safety
DANGER
Hazard due to lack of effectiveness of the protective device
In the case of non-compliance, it is possible that the dangerous state of the machine
may not be stopped or not stopped in a timely manner.
1.
Before commissioning the machine, have it checked and released by qualified
safety personnel.
2.
Make sure that the time for the safety requirement (closing the protective device
again) is longer than the response time.
7.2
Switching on
The device performs a self-test after switching on. The safety outputs are switched off
during this time.
■
The green LED STATE flashes at 15 Hz for approx. 10 seconds.
■
The LED STATE then lights up continuously.
■
The LEDs OUT and DIA are off.
b
If the device does not respond when the supply voltage is connected (e.g. green
LED STATE does not light up), return the device to the manufacturer unopened.
7.3
Teach-in
DANGER
Bypassing the protective device
The dangerous state may not be stopped in the event of non-compliance.
b
Document teaching-in of an actuator.
b
During regular thorough checks, make sure that the taught-in actuator is still being
used.
The following parameters must be taught in:
•
Number of connected sensors
•
Assignment of actuators to the sensors
•
Use with manual or automatic reset
•
Use with or without external device monitoring (EDM)
The taught-in parameters are stored in a non-volatile memory of the evaluation unit.
Every change, e.g. replacement of an actuator, makes it necessary to perform a com‐
plete new teach-in process. There is no limit to the number of teach-in processes.
During a teach-in operation, the safety outputs and application diagnostic outputs are
LOW, i.e. the system is in a safe condition.
7.3.1
Preparations for teach-in
1.
Switch off the supply voltage.
2.
Jumper terminals J1 and J2 with a shorting jumper.
3.
Set the hardware configuration using the DIP switches on the evaluation unit.
