Working with RFID Access 

Management 

What does the device status mean? 

The status of an RFID interrogator results from the current communication status between 
the 

ECS

 software component and the device in question.  

The following scenarios are used to differentiate the communication between the software 
and the device: 

•

 

Update to device configuration

: Changes to the configuration of the access points are 

transferred automatically to the RFID interrogators available in the network as soon as 
they are saved. 

•

 

Update to access authorizations

: Changes that affect access authorizations are also 

transferred to the RFID interrogators available in the network as soon as they are saved. 
Such changes include adding or removing access profiles for an authorized participant, 
deleting participants with at least one access profile, or modifying assigned access 
profiles.  

•

 

Retrieval of access information

: All the access information for an RFID interrogator 

is retrieved continuously by RFID Access Management. 

•

 

Retrieval of system logs

: The same applies to actions reported by an RFID interrogator. 

 

Meaning of status LEDs 

Status LEDs and notes have the following meaning: 

Color

The RFID interrogator needs to be updated. 

To do this, connect the RFID interrogator to the 

configuration software.  

If the update was able to be performed successfully, 

the status LED switches to green. 

If the update fails, the status LED remains yellow.

) 

The update to the RFID interrogator has failed.  

 

Check the network connection. 

 

Make sure that the current firmware has been installed 
on the RFID interrogators. 

 

Make sure that the microSD card has been inserted 
in the corresponding RFID interrogator.
