Connecting via the AMS 50 connection module
The units of the ISD 230 can also be connected to the supply voltage, electrical data
interface and the function interfaces via the AMS 50 Connection Module.
Ø
Configure the data interface of the unit (interface type and data transfer rate) as
described in
Chapter 5.1.3 Configuring the data interface, Page 24
. For this purpose,
the rear panel of the unit must be removed as described in
Chapter 5.1.2, Page 22
.
Ø
Connect the unit to the 9-pin D Sub socket (bottom connection point) on the AMS 50
using the cable no. 2 013 568.
Ø
Wire the AMV 50 accordingly.
Contrary to the information provided in the AMV/S 50 Operating Instructions:
All of the pin assignments of the ISD 230 are identical to those of the AMS 50 with the
exception of pin 1 (GND instead of 24 V DC).
Set the jumpers on the AMS 50 as shown in
Fig. 5-9
.
The corresponding circuit diagrams for the various interface types is shown in
Table 5-5,
Page 28
.
Ø
Apply the shield on both sides.
Recommendation
For further information on installing and wiring the AMS 50, please refer to the
“AMV/S 50
Operating Instructions“
(no. 8 008 294, English edition).
