Conversion factors
11.3.1
Setting the conversion factor
Function
The conversion factor “ppm – mgC” determines the physical conversion of “ppm” to “mgC/
m
3 ”. This factor must be set correctly if the physical unit “mgC” is selected for the
measurement display (for setting refer to → P. 127, §11.11.10 ).
If the EuroFID is used as a gas detector, the conversion factor is relevant for safety. The
correct value depends on the LEL value of the gas mixture, the sample gas temperature
(influences the LEL value) and the response factor of the EuroFID.The correct conversion
factor must be individually determined for each application. This is normally performed by
the skilled person who is responsible for plant safety. The specified conversion factor
should be documented.

For setting:
1 Press or until the respective conversion factor is highlighted.
2 Enter the required conversion factor.
To finish:
1 Press or until E n d is highlighted.

8000 ppm = 47 % LEL (valid for an explosive atmosphere formed with
propane at 20 °C).
