Safety information
The maintenance work to be carried out is limited to cleaning work and securing the purge
gas supply.
WARNING:
Risk of explosion during maintenance work
Risk of explosion during maintenance work in the Ex-area.

Maintenance work must only be carried out outside the Ex-area.
▸
Only remove the sender/receiver unit from the duct when the surface temperature
cannot be an ignition source.
▸
If necessary, use a gas detector to verify the explosion hazard.
DANGER:
Risk of explosion when using spare or expendable parts not approved for the
Ex-area
All spare and wear parts are tested by SICK for use in Ex-areas. The use of other spare
and expendable parts will invalidate the claim against SICK because the ignition
protection cannot be guaranteed.

Use only original spare parts and expendable parts from SICK.
WARNING:
Health hazards through dangerous process residues
The device may be contaminated by dangerous process residues.

If process gas that is harmful to health is used, purge the unit thoroughly with purge
gas, if necessary clean it with water and suitable agents.
