Battery Removal Procedure (With self-starter)

Do not charge a frozen battery.

Do not allow any short-circuit between the

positive and negative poles by a piece of metal.

Do not allow any naked flame close to the

battery. Otherwise, it might cause an explosion.

<Battery Removal Procedure>

When the battery and its cables are removed for charging

or long-term storage, proceed as follows.

Set the engine switch to “O” position, and loosen the set

bolts and nuts on the positive and negative poles.

First remove the black cable from the negative pole, then,

remove the red cable from the positive pole.

When the cables are to be attached to the poles, first

attach the cable to the positive pole. Otherwise, if the

tool should touch the pole, a short-circuit is caused.

Loosen the double nut fixing the battery and remove the

battery.

DANGER

Battery fluid is diluted sulfuric acid and harmful

to the human body.

When the battery is removed or the distilled

water replenished, wear protective glasses and

rubber gloves.

If battery fluid should enter your eye or mouth,

wash it away with large quantity of water and

consult a doctor.
