5.3 Grounding
WARNING
Danger due to malfunctions caused by improper grounding of the device.
Death, severe injuries or considerable damage to property.
• Ground the device properly.
Observe the following notes:
• Cover workplaces with permitted anti-static material.
• Always wear a wrist strap connected to the workplace and always use properly
grounded tools and devices.
• Use anti-static mats, heel straps or air ionizers for more protection.
• Always touch components that can be damaged by electrostatic energy at the
edge or the housing.
• Avoid contact with pins, cables or circuits.
• Switch off the current supply and input signals before plugging or unplugging plug
connectors or connecting test devices.
• Keep the work area free of non-conductive materials such as common plastic and
styrofoam assembly aids.
• For field service, use tools such as cutters, screwdrivers and vacuum cleaners that
are conductive.
• Always place drives and circuit boards on the foam with the printed circuit board
side down.
5.3.1 Web operator panels WOP11D-70-0 and WOP11D-100-0
The grounding of the device dissipates interference transmitted via external signal
cables or cables from external assemblies.
Ground the device with low impedance via the "functional ground" connection of the
24 V supply connector X1. Recommended cable cross-section: 1.5 mm

In addition, you can optionally ground the device via the grounding lug on the rear of
the housing. Use a fork or ring cable lug for this purpose.

Connect the grounding cable to the grounding screw of the device.
