Diagnostic procedure for operation on PROFINET
The following diagnostic procedure shows how to analyze errors if the MFE fieldbus
interface is not working on PROFINET IO.
Proceed as follows:
Initial status:
•
The MFE fieldbus interface is physically connected to PROFINET IO.
•
The MFE fieldbus interface has been configured in the IO controller and bus com-
munication is active.

You may have configured an incorrect device type or defined the configuration incor-
rectly. Perform the following steps:
1. Delete the configuration of the MFE fieldbus interface from PROFINET.
2. Configure the MFE fieldbus interface again, this time choosing the correct device
designation "MFE V1.0" (with topology detection) or "MFE V1.0 alt" (without topo-
logy detection) (→
3. Assign the address ranges for your control system.
4. Load the project planning data into the PROFIBUS IO controller master and re-
start the bus communication.
[A]
Check the bus cabling.
[B]
The MFE fieldbus interface is connected to PROFINET IO.
[C]
The MFE fieldbus interface was not yet configured or configured incorrectly.
Check the configuration, particularly the device name and the IP address.
↓
[D]
The MFE fieldbus interface indicates that the PROFINET IO controller has not
yet established communication.
The PROFINET IO controller is switched off or has not yet been started up.
