3.7.3 Markings
The following table lists all the markings that can be provided on a nameplate or at-
tached to the motor, and an explanation of what they mean.
CE mark to state compliance with European guidelines, such as the Low
Voltage Directive.
ATEX mark to state compliance with the European Directive 2014/34/EU.
VIK mark to confirm the compliance with the directive of the German Asso-
ciation of Energy and Power Industry (V.I.K.)

For operation with an inverter or at ambient temperatures > 40 °C, cable
entries and cables must be used that are suited for temperatures of
≥ 90 °C. The used cables must be selected regarding their temperature re-
sistance according to standard requirements and operating conditions.
Special indication "X"
If the special indication "X" appears after the certification number on the type examina-
tion certificate, this indicates the certificate contains special conditions for safe appli-
cation of the motors.
For motors in category 2, inverter operation is regarded as a special operating condi-
tion. For this reason, the special indication "X" is included after the certification num-
ber. The special operating conditions include the permitted speed range, as well as
the inverter properties defined in the type examination certificate.
