WARNING
Danger of falling hoist.
Severe or fatal injuries.
•
Secure or lower the hoist before carrying out any work (risk of falling).
WARNING
Risk of injury if the drive starts up unintentionally.
Severe or fatal injuries.
•
Before starting work, de-energize the drive via a suitable external disconnection
device.
•
Secure the drive against unintended re-connection of the voltage supply.
•
Secure the output shaft against rotation.
WARNING
Danger of burns due to hot surfaces of the device (e.g. the heat sink).
Serious injuries.
•
Do not touch the device until it has cooled down sufficiently.
NOTICE
Damage to the drive.
Potential damage to property!
•
Note that only SEW‑EURODRIVE Service or specialists trained by
SEW‑EURODRIVE are allowed to carry out motor and/or brake maintenance.
9.1
Cleaning the drive
Excessive dirt, dust or shavings can have a negative impact on the function of syn-
chronous motors; in extreme cases, these factors can cause the motor to break down.
For this reason, you must clean the drives at regular intervals (after one year at the
latest) to ensure a sufficiently large area for heat dissipation.
Insufficient heat dissipation can have unwanted consequences. The service life of the
bearings and the inverter is reduced through operation at impermissibly high temperat-
ures, because the bearing grease degrades.
9.2
Connection cables
Check all connection cables for damage or signs of fatigue at regular intervals. Re-
place if necessary.
