DIRECT COMMANDS FROM THE RESIDENCE PHONE
You can send commands directly to the Crown Jewel from the residence telephone.
NOTES:
1. Once you have performed a Direct Command from the residence telephone, you must
hang-up the phone before being able to perform another command.
2. If you have a multiple unit installation, you must enter the unit ID code.
3. To disable the Direct Commands feature, see Part 9, Section G above.
A. DIRECT COMMAND BASICS
When you enter Direct Commands from the residence telephone, you begin with a code that tells the
unit you will be entering Direct Commands.
NOTE:
Programming from the keypad at the unit does not
require the entry of the unit ID code.
1. Signal the Crown Jewel that you want to enter direct commands.
From the residence telephone:
when you hear the dial tone, press the pound key twice (“##”), the unit ID code
(if applicable), then the six digit password.
2. The Crown Jewel is now ready to accept programming instructions.
Examples:
## + 123456
(enter direct command mode)
## + 3 + 030303
(enter direct command mode for unit three)
B. DO NOT DISTURB UNTIL (STEP 89)
You can activate the Do Not Disturb Until feature using a Direct Command.
Format
##89 + ending time + #
•
The ending time must be 4 digits long, in 24-hour format.
Example
##89 + 1330 + #
(sets the Do Not Disturb Until feature until 1:30 PM)
C. CANCEL DO NOT DISTURB UNTIL (STEP 89)
Use this Direct Command to cancel the Do Not Disturb Until feature.
Format
##89 + 99 + #

The ending time “99” cancels the Do Not Disture Until command.
D. INITIATING AUDIO COMMUNICATION THROUGH THE CROWN JEWEL (STEP 90)
Use this Direct Command to communicate through the Crown Jewel without receiving a visitor call.
Format

After the call is initiated, you have the following choice of actions:
