Checking the oil pan and exhaust
manifold
1. Clean the removed parts.
2. Check the muffler, exhaust manifold, and
exhaust guide. Replace if corroded or
cracked.
3. Check the oil pan. Replace if corroded or
cracked.

Checking the exhaust guide anode
See “Checking the exhaust guide anode” (9-
34).
Assembling the oil pan and exhaust
manifold
Do not reuse a gasket, oil seal, or rubber
seal, always replace it with a new one.
1. Install a new oil seal. See step 1 in
“Assembling the oil pan and exhaust
manifold” (9-34).
2. Install new gaskets 1 and 2 onto the
exhaust guide 3 .
3. Install the cover 4 and oil strainer 5 .
