How to Use Certificates
The Fiscal Server has its own certificate management. Digital certificates are
data sets, which confirm the identity of a person, object, or organization. In TCP/
IP networks they are used to encrypt data and to authenticate communication
partners.
The Fiscal Server needs a certificate to:
• Participate in the EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS and PEAP authentication mechanisms


• Encrypt the connection between the clients and the connected TSE modules.
• Protect the connection to the EPS TSE Server Control Center (with HTTPS).
The following certificates can be used in the Fiscal Server:
• 1 self-signed certificate:
Certificate generated in the Fiscal Server, which is signed by the Fiscal Server
itself. This certificate is used to confirm the identity of the Fiscal Server.
• 1 EPS TSE server certificate:
Server certificate required for encrypted web connections to and from the
Fiscal Server and for encrypted connections to TSE modules.
• 1 authentication certificate:
Client certificate that confirms the identity of the Fiscal Server when partici -
pating in authentication methods.
• up to 32 CA or intermediate CA certificates:
Certificates which are issued for a certification authority and confirm its iden -
tity. They are used for verifying certificates that have been issued by the re -
spective certification authority.
Viewing Certificates

A certificate is installed on the Fiscal Server.
1. Start the EPS TSE Server Control Center.
2. Select the SETTINGS – Certificates menu item.
3. Click the magnifying glass icon for the certificate.
 The certificate is displayed.
Saving a Certificate Locally

A certificate is installed on the Fiscal Server.
1. Start the EPS TSE Server Control Center.
2. Select the SETTINGS – Certificates menu item.
3. Click the disk icon for the certificate.
 The certificate is stored on your local client.
