If you have problems installing or operating your USB
hard drive, please read through this section and try the
proposed solutions.
Basic troubleshooting
If your computer does not recognize your drive, first try
the easy fixes listed below.
• Make sure that the power and USB cables are attached
firmly.
• Make sure that your computer and USB hard drive are
plugged in and turned on
before
you attach the drive to
the computer.
If your computer still does not “see” the USB hard drive,
follow the Advanced Troubleshooting instructions below.
Advanced troubleshooting
• Make sure you are using the Windows 98, Windows Me
or Windows 2000 operating systems. Windows NT and
Windows 95 do not support USB devices.
• Make sure that the your PC supports USB version 1.1;
this drive is not compatible with USB version 1.0.
