6 Getting in and out of the
wheelchair (transfer)
Do not stand on the foot-plates. These
have not been designed to
accommodate the full weight of a
person. In addition, this could cause
the wheelchair to topple over.
Before making a transfer always
switch of the controller.
Forward transfer
1. Flip the footplates up (fig 6.1).
2. Swing the calf plates to the side (if
applicable) (fig 6.1).
3. If possible, swing the legrests to the
side (fig 6.2).
4. Seat yourself in the chair.

Sideways transfer
1. Flip up the armrest(s) (fig 6.3).
2. Seat yourself in the chair.
