FRESH WATER SYSTEM

7.1  General

The fresh water system consists of a potable water 

tank, distribution lines and a distribution pump.  

The pump is located in the aft systems compart-

ment and is equipped with an automatic pressure 

switch.  The tank is also in the aft systems com-

partment.  The water level in the tank is monitored 

with the CZone display in the cabin AC/DC panel.

CAUTION

DO NOT FILL SYSTEM WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN WATER.  
SHOULD THE SYSTEM BECOME CONTAMINATED WITH FUEL 
OR OTHER TOXIC FLUIDS, COMPONENT REPLACEMENT MAY 
BE NECESSARY.

WARNING

DO NOT CONFUSE FUEL FILL DECK PLATES WITH THE WATER 
OR WASTE FILL DECK PLATES.  THESE PLATES ALSO ARE 
LABELED ACCORDINGLY.  IF FUEL IS ACCIDENTALLY PUMPED 
INTO THE WATER OR WASTE TANK, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PUMP 
IT OUT YOURSELF.  WATER AND WASTE PUMPS ARE NOT 
DESIGNED TO PUMP FUEL AND A FIRE OR EXPLOSION COULD 
RESULT.  CONTACT YOUR DEALER OR THE SCOUT CUSTOMER 
SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR ASSISTANCE IN HAVING THE FUEL 
PROFESSIONALLY REMOVED AND COMPONENTS OF THE 
FRESH WATER SYSTEM REPLACED AS NECESSARY.

7.2  Fresh Water System Operation

Fill the water supply tank slowly through the la-

beled deck plate on the starboard gunnel.  After 

filling the water tank, partially open all faucets. 

The Fresh Water switch on the helm switch panel 

should be on.  Allow the pump to run until all of 

the air is purged from the system and a steady 

stream of water is flowing from each outlet, in

-

cluding the fresh water washdown.  Next, turn off 

the faucets one by one.  As the pressure builds, 

the pump will automatically shut off.

When properly primed and activated, the water 

system will operate much like the water system in 

a home.  An automatic pressure sensor keeps the 

system pressurized.  If the system has been re-

cently filled or has not been used for an extended 

period, air bubbles may accumulate at the pump 

and the system may have to be reprimed.

Chapter  7:

Whenever the boat is left unattended, the Fresh 

Water switch should be placed in the OFF position.

CAUTION

DO NOT ALLOW THE FRESH WATER PUMP TO RUN DRY.  THE 
FRESH WATER PUMP WORKS ON DEMAND AND WILL NOT 
SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE TANK IS EMPTY.   THIS 
CAN RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE PUMP.  ALWAYS TURN THE 
FRESH WATER SWITCH OFF WHEN THE FRESH WATER SYSTEM 
IS NOT IN USE.
