MODEL 5000 SERIES MANUAL



Confirm the STI 5000 Series Firmware (5300HSW.EXE) is located on the

floppy disk.



With the STI PCW Interface Software running:

o

Use the “System”->”Load Firmware” menu selection.

o

A message will open confirming the STI 5000 Series Tester has a
486CPU installed;

click the “Yes” button.

o

A file selection box will open (only the file name 5300HSW.EXE is
allowed), highlight the firmware file and click the “open” button.

o

The firmware file is read into the PCW program (this takes
approximately 15 seconds).

o

A message box will open asking if the STI 5000 Series Tester
display indicates “STI Download…”,

confirm

that the display

DOES

NOT

indicate this and then click the “No” button.

o

Another message box will open (exactly like the previous one), again

confirm

the STI 5000 Series Tester display

DOES

indicate “STI

Download…” and then click the “Yes” button.

o

The firmware download will then proceed, taking approximately 3
minutes to complete.

o

The STI 5000 Series Tester display will indicate “restarting system”
and then the new firmware will load with the display showing the
same indications as when the tester is first powered on.

NOTE: if the display on the STI 5000 Series Tester shows “STI Download …” when
the tester is turned on, use this selection to reload the operating firmware into the
tester or see Section 7.1.4.

6.3.3.6 About

Provides PCW Version and copyright information. Click on the Release info line to
display custom options installed.

6.3.3.7 Printer Setup

Provides control for selecting the printer the PCW program will use and, depending
on the printer selected, viewing and changing the printer properties.

6.3.3.8 Exit

If there are any unsaved Test Programs, prompts user to save the Test Program. If
there are any unsaved changes to the system configuration, prompts user to save the
system configuration. Exits the STI PCW program.

6.3.4 Window

Allows  for  auto  arranging  of  open  windows.    If  many  windows  are  open  and  one  or
more  are  hidden  from  view,  use  one  of  the  following  menu  items  to  arrange  the
windows.    All  open  sub-windows  will  be  listed,  with the  active  sub-window  checked.
Click on the desired sub-window to make that the active sub-window.

6.3.4.1 Tile

Tiles all open windows.

6.3.4.2 Cascade

Cascade all open windows (probably the best to use).

6.3.4.3 Arrange All

Arranges minimized windows along the bottom of the main window.
