MODEL 5000 SERIES MANUAL

Self Test (ADP-340-4 / 5 / Gated / 10x1000)

The ADP-340-4 / 5 with Gated and/or 10x1000 self test checks all of the relays on the
dual  ovp  pc  board,  if  applicable,  all  of  the  relays  on  the  gated  device  board,  and,  if
applicable,  all  of  the  relays  on  the  10x1000  pulse  board.    The  self  test  is  run  as  a
series  of  blocks  and  if  a  relay  fails  to  operate  correctly,  the  self  test  routine  reports
the block that failed.  Refer to Table 13-3 through Table 13-7 for details on relays that
are  checked  with  each  block  for  the  AD-340-4  /  5  /  Gated  /  10x1000.    Note:  each
failure must be cleared before the self test routine will check subsequent blocks.

If the 10x1000 Pulse Option is installed, then the board is automatically detected and
the self test blocks 70-96 will be run.

To  run  the  ADP-340-4  or  ADP-340-5  or  ADP-340-

5G self test, use the “Runtime-

>Self Test->Adaptor->ADP-340-4

–or- ADP-340-5 -or- ADP-340-5G –or ADP-340-

” menu selection. This opens the Adaptor Self Test Box. Be sure the

ADP-340-4  /  5  /  5G  Self  Test  Fixture  is  installed  and  the  ADP-340-4  /  5  /  5G  is
connected correctly  to the  STI 5000  Series Tester.   Press the “Start” button on the
5000 Series Tester.

Note:  Blocks  1-23  (except  Blocks  12  through  17)  test  the  relays  on  the  ADP-340-4
(Dual OVP Board), Blocks 1-23 test the relays on the ADP-340-5 (Dual OVP Board),
Blocks  24-51  test  the  relays  on  the  ADP-340-5G  (Gated  Board  Option)  and  Blocks
70-96 test the relays on the 10x1000 Pulse Board Option.  If errors occur in Blocks 1-
23  that  do  not  clear  when  the  suggested  relay  is  replaced  and  the  Gated  Device
Option  is  installed,  try  bypassing  the  Gated  Device  Board  with  the  extender  cables
provided.    Remove  J7-J9  on  the  Gated  Device  Board  and  connect  to  J7-J9  on  the
Dual  OVP  Board  with  these  extender  cables.    Then  run  the  ADP-340-5  self  test.    If
this passes then the problem is on the Gated Device Board.
