6.6.3.2 Sorting and Binning Modes
The 5000 Series Tester supports two different sorting/binning modes.
The STI Bin Mode executes all of the programmed test steps in the order they were
programmed and then determines the qualifying sort, if any. See Section 6.6.3.3 for
detailed description.
The STI Bin Sort Mode provides for branching on the first non-qualify test. Only
those tests (run in the order they were programmed) required to qualify for a sort are
run. See Section 6.6.3.4 for detailed description.
6.6.3.3 The STI Bin mode functions as follows:
RUNS ALL TESTS FIRST

All programmed test steps are executed in order. The EOP (end on pass) or
EOF (end on fail) selections may be used to halt execution of the subsequent
programmed test steps.

Each sort with a bin assignment is checked, in ascending order of bin
assignment and then ascending order of sort number, until a qualifying sort is
found or no qualifying sort is found.

If a qualifying sort is found, the bin assignment is sent to the handler or prober
and the sort number is displayed at the front panel.

If no qualifying sort is found, the bin fail is sent to the handler or prober and
“SORT FAIL” is displayed at the front panel.
 If the “Multiple Bins” item is selected, then all possible bin assignments that
correspond to a qualifying sort are sent to the handler or prober.
6.6.3.4 The STI Bin Sort mode functions as follows:
RUNS ONLY THOSE TESTS REQUIRED TO QUALIFY TO A SORT
NO TESTS ARE RE-RUN

The sort with lowest sort number and lowest bin number is selected first.

Each programmed test selected in this sort is executed until the sort qualifies
or the executed test does not qualify.

If the executed test does not qualify, the next sort associated with next lowest
bin is selected.

Each programmed test selected in this sort is executed if not already
executed in a previously selected sort until the sort qualifies or the executed
test or previously executed test does not qualify.

This process is repeated until a qualifying sort is found or no sort qualifies.

NOTE: It is possible that not all programmed test steps will be executed to
qualify a sort; and from one tested device to another, the same tests may not
be executed to qualify to a sort.

As in the STI Bin mode, the bin assignment or bin fail is sent to the handler
or prober
and the sort number or “SORT FAIL” is displayed at the front panel.
 “Multiple Bins” are not allowed in this mode.

The EOP and EOF qualifiers are not used in this mode.
The STI binning mode is selected in the Test Program Popup Menu
–
Options dialog box.
