TO BUILD YOUR VERY OWN
BACKGROUND
A locomotive is the part of a train
that provides the power to pull the
whole train along the railroad tracks.
Locomotive engines can be powered
by steam, gas, and electricity.
Our locomotive is designed to roll on
most surfaces. It can also pull along
several wagons that are also available
as scienceSeeds kits.
PREP
• Lay out your pieces so you can easily
identify them.
• Use markers or paint to decorate
the various parts to personalize your
locomotive. We recommend coloring
the pieces before assembly.
• Your locomotive has been laser cut
on plywood which is not always
uniform in width. Consequently some
pieces may fit more tightly or loosely
than others.
• Use sandpaper (included) to sand
down parts if the fit is tight.
• If the fit is loose, you can use wood
glue to secure the parts. Use small
amounts when applying the glue.
