2. Set the Proportional Band

After setting the flow rate, you may need to set the proportional 
band. The proportional band default setting is 5. Increasing this 
value will stabilize the steering, but decrease responsiveness. 
Decreasing this value will have the opposite effect.

a.

Keep your system in 

Manual Turn

 mode to set the pro-

portional band.

b. Select 

System > Steering Setup > Gain Setup > Proportnl 

Setup > Proptnl Band 

in the controller menu.

c. Drive your vehicle in a straight line for a minimum of 500 

feet (maximum of 1/4 mile) and observe how the vehicle 
behaves on the line.

d. Adjust the proportional band by turning the rotary dial as 

needed according to the scenarios below. Again, the  
objective is to find the point at which the vehicle steers 
on the line without drifting off, with as little oscillation as 
possible.
