Soft steel jaws
The KSC2 can be fitted with soft quick interchangeable jaws. For further information, please
see the sales literature.
9.1
Function
The soft steel jaw is moved on to the threaded profile in the tool body in the same way as the
standard reversible jaw. The vice must be closed once completely so that the drivers engage in
the clamping jaw.
To disassemble the jaw proceed in the same way as with the standard reversible jaw.
For the proper function of the jaws it is important to ensure that the material cross sections
are adequate.
9.1.1
Cutting out the clamping shape
For cutting out the contour, the soft steel jaws have to be clamped in the KSC2.
Place a distance piece into the planned jaw opening.
Tighten the main spindle with the intended torque.
Cut out the contour.
In view of the fact that the type and method of clamping vary a great deal, the setting-
up
technician is responsible for ensuring that the clamping cross sections are adequate, and
For checking the workpiece clamping.
