3. Installation and operation in the vehicle.
3.3 Belts
After the child has been placed into the seat and restraint system and a
favourable seat position has been secured, at first the disability-specific
belt system (5-point harness belt) is fitted and fastened (it is used only to
position the child).
Now the 3-point belt of the vehicle is fitted (mandatory). Here, the belt is
inserted into the three belt guides
1
,
2
and
3
. The upper belt guide eyelet
has a slit especially for the purpose. Please ensure that the 3-point belt is
not twisted and lies closely against the seat pan and the child to avoid
gap distances in case of doubt.
In particular, it must be checked whether the shoulder belt guide eyelet
1
is not positioned too low (belt is positioned below shoulder height) or too
height (belt already touches the throat). The position of this eyelet can be
changed by loosening and dismantling the screw connection in the hole
pattern (right-hand image). Prior to this, the plastic cap must be removed
by pushing it to the rear.
Then carefully assemble the screw connection and tighten it. The seat and
restraint system can be positioned both on the right an the left-hand side
of the vehicle.
Right-hand side (in direction of travel): Install upper belt guide 1 on
right-hand side
Left-hand side: Install upper belt guide 1 on the left-hand side.
It is mandatory that the 3-point belt of the car is always be used.
