2.3.3. Connecting the ADSL and Line Cable
2.3.3.1 Splitter connection (ISDN)
Æ
not applicable for Internet via Satellite
The Splitter / Micro-filter are important for ADSL installation, they help direct high-
frequency signals to the ADSL modem & low frequency signals to the telephone or other
analogue device to prevent inter-modulation distortion and get good speed/stable ADSL
signal.
For ADSL over ISDN a splitter is necessary. Connect the splitter according to its manual.
a) Use the black cable. Connect one side to the IAD’s Line port when connecting to
the splitter’s Phone port. .
(Not applicable for Internet via Satellite)
b) Use the grey DSL cable to the IAD’s DSL port when connecting to the splitter’s
ADSL port.
c) Use the cable delivered with your splitter to the splitter’s Line port when
connecting to the telephone wall jack.
