Testing the warning device
9.5.1
The warning device monitors the operating vacuum and power failures
Switch on the vacuum generator.
Place the lifting device on a workpiece with a dense, smooth surface and apply suction.
WARNING
Danger due to falling objects
The workpiece could come loose and fall off during the inspection.
► Only apply suction to the workpiece; do not lift it.
When the vacuum has been generated, loosen the sealing lip of the suction plate to break the seal.
The vacuum shown on the gauge will decrease. When the partial vacuum falls below the alarm
threshold of 0.6 bar (standard value), the warning device must trigger the alarm.
WARNING
Danger due to falling objects
The alarm threshold of the warning device is set on the lifting device.
► The warning threshold must never be adjusted.
See the separate operating instructions for further information on the warning device.
Checking the suction hoses and clamps
9.5.2
Check that all suction hoses and hose clamps are securely fastened, tighten if necessary (see service
table 9.6).
Checking the vacuum reservoir
9.5.3
Carry out a leak test once a month.
Position the suction plates on a
dense and smooth
surface,
e.g. a metal sheet.
Switch on the pump and apply suction to the workpiece.
Wait until a vacuum of approx. -0.7 bar is reached.
Switch off the pump. The vacuum should not drop by
more than 0.1 bar within 5 minutes.
Wait until a vacuum of approx. -0.7 bar is reached.
Switch off the pump. The vacuum should not drop by
