10 Decommissioning and Recycling
10.1 Safety
The tube lifter must be decommissioned and prepared for disposal only by qualified specialists.
10.2 Taking the Tube Lifter out of Operation
1. Set the gripper down on a secure surface.
2. Disassemble the gripper.
3. Switch off the vacuum generator and secure it so it cannot be started up again without permission.
4. Disconnect the remote control receiver from the power supply.
5. Remove the remote control receiver.
6. Disconnect the vacuum generator from the power supply.
7. Detach the vacuum hose from the rotary union.
8. Secure the tube lifter to prevent it from falling.
9. Remove the tube lifter from the crane system using a suitable hoist.
10. Store the tube lifter so that it is protected from damage.
10.3 Disposing of the Tube Lifter
1. Take the tube lifter out of operation.
2. Dispose of the radio remote control.
3. Detach and dispose of the suction cup.
4. Undo the hose clamps and detach the vacuum hoses.
5. Unscrew the lift tube from the lifting unit and the rotary union.
6. Dispose of the hoses, operator handle, suction cup, rotary union, etc. in the appropriate manner
(based on the materials).
7. Detach and dispose of the vacuum generator in accordance with the operating instructions supplied
separately.
