9.3 Regular Inspections
1. Observe the applicable country-specific regu-
lations.
2. Comply with country-specific inspection dates.
3. If necessary, release the tube lifter for use only
after approval by the authorities.
4. The inspector can only attach the inspection
label to the tube lifter if the inspection has
been performed successfully.

Valid for Germany: As per DGUV regulation 52 and rule 100-500, the operator of a crane system with
Tube lifter is obligated to have the system checked by an expert at least once per year.
As a special service within Germany, J. Schmalz GmbH offers an inspection contract for an an-
nual test with a certificate from an expert. Please refer to the seal of approval attached to the
system for more information. We would be happy to provide you with a quotation for this ser-
vice.

9.4 Inspecting Safety Features
1. If operation is interrupted, check the safety features at the beginning of each shift.
2. For continuous shift operation, check the safety features once a week.
3. Take the tube lifter out of operation and mark it as defective as soon as a safety feature ceases to
function correctly.
9.4.1 Checking the Non-Return Valve of the Rotary Union
The non-return valve in the rotary union prevents a rapid vacuum drop in the case of a power failure.
