Air supply
Maintenance unit
The machine must for the correct functioning of the feeding and the individual stations be supplied
with compressed air. Also opening and closing the safety cover is controlled pneumatically. The com-
pressed air is supplied to the maintenance unit on the left side of the machine, where the main pres-
sure is reduced.
The length of the hose for the compressed air supply should not exceed 15 m. Use the hose with a
diameter of 12 mm supplied with the machine.
The following modules/stations are controlled by compressed air:

Safety cover:
open/close

Feeding unit:
Contact pressure feeding belts
■
Gripper of swivel arm:
Clamping force
■
Air jet unit:
Blow away wire residue on the cutting unit
■
Stacker:
Extending the tray for removing the batches
■
Collector station:
Contact pressure of picker
The maximal operating pressure should be
adjusted on the pressure valve

, to not higher
than 7 bar (0.7 MPa). Likewise the minimal pres-
sure should not be bellow 5 bar (0.5 MPa), oth-
erwise the safety cover can not be opened or
closed properly.
The set up operational pressure can be read on
the pressure gauge.
As the compressed air contains residual mois-
ture, the emerging condensation is separated in
the water separator

. The water separator can
be drained via the blow-off valve

At the output, the pressure reduced and cleaned
air is supplied to the machine.
Compressed air control
On this dials the operating pressure for the fol-
lowing stations is set-up:

The pressure depends on the to be processed raw material. The pressure should be set as low as pos-
sible, to ensure that the raw material is fed properly but with no marks on the insulation.
