6.9.1 Free Variables
Four so-called “free” variables are available for the
user to freely set with data via the control command
or the short list command
.
These variable values can be outputted via the McBSP
interface (see
chapter 9.1.7 "McBSP Interface",
) and you can query them via

The free variables let you, for example, transmit
control commands over the McBSP interface to user
hardware or document the board’s operational states
(e.g. when branching during program execution).
