Never remove the housing. The inside of this device houses
laser diodes!
Always ensure during installation, operation, transport and
when storing the product that no shocks or other forces im-
pact the housing!
The housing must be installed exclusively via the mounting
bracket.
The housing must be fixed with an appropriate safety-rope.
The housing must not touch onto any other devices or objects
during operation!
Easily flammable materials e.g. decoration material and other
surfaces and objects must maintain a minimum distance of 1
m to the housing!
Do not touch the housing during operation – it will heat up.
The housing is safe to touch approx. 5 minutes following the
end of operation!
Fluids must not enter the housing as this could reduce the
protective insulation and may trigger short circuits which
may lead to fatal electric shocks! If fluids have entered, dis-
connect the mains plug immediately and secure the product
against unintentional operation and contact your specialised
dealer! Damage caused as a result of fluids entering the
housing is exempt from warranty.
No metal parts or other items must enter the housing as this
may reduce the protective insulation or trigger short circuits
which may lead to fatal electric shocks! If metal parts or other
items have entered, disconnect the mains plug immediately,
secure the product against unintentional operation and con-
tact your specialised dealer! Damage caused by metal parts
or other items in the housing is exempt from warranty.
Laser
ATTENTION:
DANGER!
When operating lasers, observing the notes on safety and le-
gal regulations is mandatory.
Please observe: Regulations and notes on safety are only
partially reproduced here. The operator shall independently
obtain information regarding the current national rules and
regulations which must be observed.
Scanic is not liable for damage resulting from the non-compli-
ance with rules and regulations.
Public events require the appointment of a laser safety of-
ficer. For installation in public buildings e.g. night clubs, ve-
nues or pubs, the lasers must be approved by the local TÜV
and/or professional trade association.
Be sure to observe the information on safety and health at
work published by the professional trade association, espe-
cially PTA information on “Laser Installations for Shows and
Projections”, “Operation of Laser Installations” and “Regulati-
ons Pertaining to the Prevention of Accidents – Laser Radiati-
on”. Also, observe the DIN regulations on the “Safety of Laser
Installations” and “Show Lasers and Show Laser Installations,
Requirements and Inspection” as well as “Shielding of Laser
Work Places, Technical Safety Requirements and Inspection”.
The laser must never be operated without supervision!
The laser’s operating console must not be located within the
show laser’s perimeter.
The laser must only be operated within an enclosed show
laser perimeter.
Never direct the laser beam toward individuals or animals!
Secure the laser by all means against an unintentional alte-
ration of the position!
The laser must be set up as such that the laser beam never
migrates.
The laser has not been designed for continuous operation.
Never use the laser for more than 4 hours.
The laser must be operated and supervised by trained pro-
fessionals only. The laser must never be operated by private
individuals. The instructed individual must monitor the path
of the beam and if necessary deactivate the device.
The employer must ensure that employees are familiarised
with how to handle lasers and with the risks of laser radiation
and the safety installations in place as well as the necessary
safety measures at least once a year.
The manufacturer does not accept liability for possible dama-
ge resulting from any operation other than such as laid down
in the regulations!
Fuse
ATTENTION:
DANGER OF LIFE!
Disconnect the product from the mains before changing a
fuse.
Only replace the fuse by a fuse of same type and rating! An
incorrect fuse could damage or destroy the lighting effect.
Replace a fuse by unscrewing the fuseholder cover. Remove
the old fuse and place the fuse inside the holder. Replace the
fuseholder and tighten it.
Never connect the lighting effect to the mains while the
housing is still open.
Operating Environment
ATTENTION:
DANGER OF LIFE! RISK OF BURNS! RISK OF FIRE! RISK OF
SHORT CIRCUIT!
The product must be operated and stored in a dry environ-
ment only! Splash water, rain, humidity, fog may reduce the
protective insulation which may lead to fatal electric shocks!
The limit value for relative humidity is 50% at 45°C. A mini-
mum distance of 1 m to a fog machine must be observed;
fog saturation in the room must not reduce the visibility to
below 10 m.
The product must be operated at a temperature range of bet-
ween -5 °C and 45 °C only. The optimum operating tempera-
ture for this laser ranges between 18 and 30 degrees Celsi-
us. Protect the product against direct exposure to sunlight or
other heat, such as from radiators!
If the product is taken from a cold environment into a warm
environment it must only be taken into operation once it has
reached ambient temperature, since the condensation crea-
ted by the difference in temperature may destroy the device!
Protect the product against dust! Dust may reduce the pro-
tective insulation, which may cause fatal electric shocks!
The product must be operated at altitudes ranging between
20 m below and 2000 m above sea level only!
The product must not be operated during thunder storms;
risk of destruction from surge voltages!
The product must be operated at a minimum distance of 1 m
to lit objects only!
Installation
ATTENTION:
DANGER OF LIFE!
This product can only be operated as a suspended installa-
tion.
Should your Scanic lighting effect show any signs of damage,
do not suspend the device! In this case, have your lighting
effect repaired by your specialised Scanic dealer.
Scanic does not accept responsibility or liability for damage
