2.1  Definitions of signal w ords and w arning sym bols

 

Saf ety  notes contain important inf ormation on saf ety  issues. Ignoring the saf ety  notes may  lead 
to personal  injury , damage  to the  instrument, malf unctions and f alse results. Saf ety  notes are 
marked with the f ollowing signal words  and warning  sy mbols:

WARNING 

A hazardous  situation with medium risk, possibly  resulting in death or sev ere 
injury  if  not av oided.

 

NOTICE 

A hazardous  situation with low  risk, resulting in damage  to the instrument, 
other material damage, malf unctions and erroneous  results, or loss of  data.

Electrical shock

 

 General hazard:  read  the User Manual  f or inf ormation about the hazards  and  the 

resulting measures.  

 Caution: a hazardous  situation with low  risk, resulting in minor or moderate injury  if  not av oided.

 

2.2   Product specific safety notes

 

Intended use

 

The  SBS-2510  is designed  to be used by  trained staf f  and is intended f or measuring the 
density  of  liquid samples that are compatible with the materials with which they  come into 
contact.

 

The  SBS-2510  is designed  f or indoor and  outdoor operation  in dry  conditions. The f ollowing site 
requirements apply :

 

Ambient conditions within the limits specif ied in the technical data

No corrosiv e gas atmosphere

No explosiv e atmosphere

No powerf ul electric or magnetic f ields

Any  other ty pe of  use and operation  bey ond the limits of  use stated by  Storage Battery  Sy stems, 
LLC without consent is considered as not intended.

 

FCC Rules

 

This dev ice complies with Industry  Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s) and part 15 of  the 
FCC Rules. Operation  is subject to the f ollowing two conditions: (1) this dev ice may  not cause 
interf erence, and (2) this dev ice must accept any  interf erence, including interf erence that may  
cause undesired operation  of  the dev ice. Changes or modif ications not expressly  approv ed by  the 
party  responsible f or compliance could v oid the user's authority  to operate  the equipment.

 

This equipment  has been  tested and f ound to comply  with the limits f or a Class A digital dev ice, 
pursuant to Part 15 of  the FCC rules. These limits are  designed to prov ide reasonable  protection 
against harmf ul interf erence when  the equipment  is operated  in a commercial env ironment. This 
equipment generates, uses, and  can radiate  radio f requency  energy  and, if  not installed and used in 
accordance with the instruction manual, may  cause harmf ul interf erence to radio communications. 
Operation  of  this equipment in a residential  area is likely  to cause harmf ul interf erence in which  case 
the user will  be required  to correct the interf erence at  his own expense.

 

Responsibilities of the instrument ow ner

 

The instrument owner is the person holding the legal title to the instrument and who uses the instrument 
or authorizes any  person to use it, or the person who is deemed by law to be the operator of  the 
instrument. The instrument owner is responsible for the safety of all users of the instrument and third 
parties.

 

Storage Battery Systems, LLC assumes that the instrument owner trains users to safely use the instrument 
in their workplace and deal with potential hazards. Storage Battery Systems, LLC assumes that the 
instrument owner provides the necessary protective gear.
