6. OPERATION
The safety information from section 2 “Safety” must be observed.
DANGER!
Danger – strong magnetic field!
The exposure zone of the magnetic field poses a risk of injury and death
for persons with pacemakers, electronic medical device implants, active
implants or ferromagnetic foreign bodies.
■
Minimum distance 2 m!
■
Whether persons with pacemakers, active implants or ferromagnetic
foreign bodies can work on machines with magnetic chucks has to be
decided in each individual case and upon consultation with a physician.
Measurements may have to be carried out.
■
In any case, the hazard zone has to be limited in such a way that the
basic limit of 0.5 mT is not reached.
■
The applicable limits in the exposure zone of the magnetic field as per
BGV B11 (Regulation issued by the German Social Accident Insurance
Institutions), Annex 2, are not exceeded.
- Peak values for head or torso: 2.000 T
- Mean value for 8 h full-body exposure: 0.212 T
- Peak value for extremities: 5.000 T
- As the magnetic saturation for steel 1.0037 is 1.6 – 1.9 T and the
magnetic field is concentrated in the area near the pole plate, the
limits stated above are not exceeded in the range > 10 cm.
- As per the Bavarian Environment Agency (LfU) and the German Federal
Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (EMFV) of 15/11/2016,
constant magnetic fields < 2 T have no adverse effect on health.
DANGER!
Danger – strong magnetic field!
Electronic devices such as computers or control units can be damaged
if they are located near the strong magnets. Failure of these devices can
result in other hazards.
■
If failure of these devices would create a hazard, these must be
positioned outside of the exposure zone.
