23.1

Selection and clamping of the router bit.

The adapter plate is screwed to the base of the router and the router is not yet inserted into the

routing and drilling device.
Select the appropriate router bit for the intended machining. Only sharp tools lead to good machin-

ing results and reliable machining.

Do not use damaged bits. There is the possibility of brakeage during use leading to se-

rious injuries.

Use the collet with the union nut, which has the same diameter as the shank of the router bit.
Clean all parts, including the inner core of the router, thoroughly.
Push the bit into the collet as far as possible.
Insert the collet into the machine with the bit and tighten the chuck. Follow the instructions given by

the router manufacturer, using only the keys provided.
Make sure about the correct and tight fit of the bit.

23.2

Inserting the router

Clamp the beams on the cross rails.
Adjust the mounting frame via the height adjustment so that the base plate is about 10 mm above

the workpiece surface. Move the mounting frame to the latching position until the stop and clamp

the mounting frame using the knurled screws.
Place the router with the adapter plate already mounted on the base plate. The router must now be

clamped to the base plate (2x).

23.3

Connection to the extraction system

Connect the extraction system to the connection port of the base plate.
If your router is also equipped with an extraction port, connect both to a suitable Y-piece. This way
you can ensure the maximum extraction of dust.
If possible, carry out the machining so that the chips fly in the direction of the base plate's extrac-

tion port.
Ensure that your extraction system has a good efficiency by using clean filters and an empty chip

and dust container.
Set the maximum power of the extraction system.
