Sartorius Stat-Fan YIB01
Purpose
Stat-Fan is a self-adjusting ionizing blower that enables you to set
the air flow rate. This ionizing blower produces positive and
negative ions to neutralize electrostatic charges on objects placed
in its air stream.
Operation
The red LED on the front of the Stat-Fan lights up when the unit
is in operation. The on/off switch is located on the front of the
Stat-Fan.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to leave enough space at the front
and back of the Stat-Fan to allow unimpeded passage of air.
To adjust the air flow rate of the ionizing blower, turn the knob
on the front. To increase the fan speed, turn the knob clockwise.
To decrease the fan speed, turn the knob counterclockwise. The
unit is capable of neutralizing static electricity in a working area
measuring
600 mm x 600 mm. Items to be neutralized should be kept
within this area.
To maintain optimum efficiency, Stat-Fan must be kept clean.
Internal components can be cleaned by blowing compressed air
into the air ducts. The enclosure may be cleaned with a piece of
cloth moistened with alcohol. If the device requires any repair or
modification, please contact your local Sartorius office or your
local Sartorius dealer.
The diagram shows the rate of neutralization of an
electrostatically charged, isolated conductor. The conductor is
charged with 1,000 volts, and the time given in seconds is the time
it takes Stat-Fan to reduce the charge to 100 volts. The two
curves show the neutralizing rates at maximum and minimum air
flow.
