Chapter

System Boards

This Chapter describes the types of boards available for the SMG-400, and the functions and
features of each board.

Types of Boards

There are

two types of board available for the SMG-400: the

MCU board and LOOP board.

MCU Board

MCU (Main Control Unit) boards

must

be installed in the SMG-400. MCU board controls

the entire operation of the system and VoIP Gateway function and provides SLC subscriber
ports. MCU boards include the following three parts.

VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Part

SLC (Subscriber Line Circuit) Part

LOOP Board

LOOP (Loop Start Trunk) board may be installed depending on the user’s need. LOOP board
