3. Press the code for callback and check that you hear confirmation tone.
4. Replace both the handset on your phone and on the busy phone and confirm that your phone rings.
5. Lift your handset and check that ringing stops on your phone and that the calling signal begins. Confirm
that you hear ringing tone on the internal phone that was previously busy.
6. Lift the handset on the previously busy phone to answer the call.
Check that:
- ringing stops
- the call signal on your phone stops
- communication between the two phones is normal.
Checking External Calls Function
Check that you can communicate with external users as follows.
1. Lift the handset of an internal telephone and confirm that you can hear internal dial tone.
2. Dial the code for an external line and check that you can hear external dial tone. (If this phone is not al-
lowed to make external calls, confirm that you can hear the error signal.)
3. Dial an external phone number and confirm that you can hear the ring back tone.
4. When the called party answers, check the line quality.

Checking External Callback Function
This function is used if all external lines are busy when you wish to make a call to an external subscriber. It
automatically rings you back as soon as an external line becomes free. When you lift your handset, you will
hear external dial tone. You can dial the phone number of the external subscriber
without
dialling the exter-
nal dialling code.
1. Lift the handset of an internal telephone and dial the external dial code. Check that you can hear external
dial tone.
2. Check that you can hear the busy tone that is generated when all external lines are busy.
3. Press the hookflash key on your phone and
confirm that the busy signal stops.
4. Dial the code for callback and confirm that you can hear the confirmation signal.
5. Replace the handset and make an external line idle. Confirm that your phone rings and the status of the
relevant line becomes ‘busy’.
6. Lift your handset, and confirm that ringing stops and dial tone begins.
7. Dial an external number and check that you can hear the ring back tone.
Checking the Attendant Console
When all basic functions above are performing normally, you should test some of the basic functions of the
Attendant Console to confirm normal operation.
1. Check that when connecting a subscriber with the phone on the console, the LCD display is cleared.
2. Press the MODE key on the console and check that the LED lights.
3. Press an unused loop-selection key and confirm that “CLG:” is displayed on the LCD.
Checking Internal Calls
Check that internal communication is normal.
1. Lift the console handset and press an unused loop-selection key. Dial the phone number of an internal
user. Check that the called user’s number and status are displayed on the LCD. Confirm that you can
hear ring back tone.
2. When the called user answers, check the quality of the line.
3. Replace the console handset and confirm that the contents of the LCD are erased.
